AIS use conditions
Ship Tracking is an information service prepared for AIS data supplied through Pelyr. The map identifies the sources and licences of the data it displays. Positions and vessel details can be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate or absent.
- Do not rely on this service to navigate, avoid collisions, support search and rescue, protect people, property or the environment, or determine legal compliance. Use the appropriate official sources and equipment.
- Do not use it to surveil, harass or track individuals.
- Do not extract Pelyr-licensed positions in bulk, including through repeated requests. Do not export or redistribute them as raw data, a dataset, a feed or a position-report service.
- Do not relay, resell or share provider access, or expose provider credentials.
- Keep the source credits with any permitted use. Each displayed source retains its own licence.
This page offers no raw AIS download or feed relay. Provider credentials are kept private and are not supplied to website visitors.
Attribution for Pelyr-licensed data: AIS data from Pelyr (pelyr.com), Pelyr Data Licence 2.0. Other source credits appear alongside the data they cover.
These conditions apply when you accept them in the Ship Tracking view. Source permissions do not provide any guarantee of availability or accuracy.
Openly licensed data retains the rights granted by its source. These conditions do not restrict your rights under CC BY or the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD).
Source terms: Pelyr API terms and Pelyr Data Licence 2.0.
